artists from the switchboard studios & gallery will display a diverse selection of creative visual work. light refreshments will be available in the caretaker's cottage. visitors can also take part in a scavenger hunt on the cemetery grounds during the saturday hours. the exhibit and scavenger hunt are free.

The Last Ride & Macabre Creations

quiet respite on wheels

Held in conjunction with the 'Thunder on the River' Car Show, coordinated by the Columbia Lions Club, a display of hearses, flower cars, and more will be featured on the cemetery grounds along with vendors featuring macabre creations. a free event.

columbia-wright's ferry 300: 'brick cemetery tour'

graveside tours

Activities designed in observance of the 300th anniversary of the founding of our town will be held on the grounds of Mount Bethel Cemetery. Tour the 'old brick cemetery' section of the cemetery to learn more about the founders and notable residents of our community. local historian, chris vera, will be on-hand in this back corner of mount bethel to share tidbits of knowledge and interesting stories. tours begin at 11 am and again at 3 pm. there is no charge for these tours.

columbia-wright's ferry 300: tea with susanna wright'

Activities designed in observance of the 300th anniversary of the founding of our town will be held on the grounds of Mount Bethel Cemetery. In addition to the tour of the old brick cemetery, the more highbrow may enjoy the ticketed 'tea with susanna wright,' a high tea event hosted by costumed portrayer, janet wood. tickets for the 1 pm tea may be purchased for $35 each prior to june 20 by visiting www.susqnha.org/events.

An outdoor picnic held on the grounds of Mount Bethel with live music. those in attendance are asked to dress in black, if possible.Bring your own picnic food and beverage; we will supply the table, table coverings, and chairs. Reservations are $20 per person if prepaid by August 31; after that, $25 per person. For tickets, call 717-681-6768 or email friendsofmtbethel@gmail.com. Please check before arriving to determine if day-of-seating is available. Admission is limited to the available seating.

macabre market: 'six feet under'

the grounds of mount bethel will host a variety of vendors who specialize in the macabre. look for offerings that range from vintage funereal items to current offerings that are on-theme with the function of a cemetery. this event is held in conjunction with the albatwitch festival.

wreaths across america

honor our vets

Mount Betherl cemetery participates in this national program to honor our veterans. wreaths are sponsored by local individuals and organizations through wreaths across america. a ceremony, which begins at noon, is followed by placement of wreaths on identified veteran graves by community volunteers and wreath sponsors.
